The Grouch & Scarub SOuLeD OUT

The Living Legend's Grouch and Scarub took Maui by storm this weekend with an amazing, sold out show.

As luck would have it, the show fell on my 28th birthday. My birthday was made even sweeter when I received a text early in the day, from Grouch, saying I was on the list for the night. This would have been enough, but, much to my surprise, Grouch had something up his sleeve.
Grouch introduced me to the crowd...

He then proceeded to lead the Casanova's crowd in singing Happy Birthday to me.

It may have been one of the most amazing feelings of my life.

An amazing friend

I'm pretty sure everyone left with a smile on their face. With a line that stretched for two blocks, anyone who got their late was surely kicking themselves.

Ian Walsh Menehune Mayhem Recap

Ian Walsh Menehune Mayhem Recap

I realize this is a little out of the norm for our blog. Let me preface it by saying Ian Walsh is an amazingly talented, local bred surfer. He and I were great friends when we were little, and he was just starting to pick up sponsors. He's now gotten to the point where he hosts is own contest for kids. He's a local surf success story. And I'm glad to say he's as nice of a guy now as he was in the 6th grade. Also, big ups to The Throwdowns, a local band doing big things, for the background music.

If you need a fix

Resident DJ of KPMW Wild 105.5, DJ Skinny Guy, drops tasty treats on air daily. Some of the sweetest of these gems can be found at 8 am in a 20 minute segment called the Quick Fix Morning Mix. I don't always get to catch it but lucked out this past Tuesday to find this hip hop treasure trove hitting my ears on the way to work.
