Maui Graced with Wheatpaste

Recently, some new wheatpaste pieces appeared on Maui's north shore, in Paia town. This collection of skulls, along with an owl, fit pretty nicely in this rustic town. Wheatpaste is fairly rare for Maui, let alone street art of this caliber. Here are the pieces I could find:

Banksy on Film? Exit Through the Gift Shop Trailer

This Sunday, the psuedo-documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop screens at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Apparently it’s about a French shopkeeper trying to meet and film Banksy, the world renowned British street artist. Or is it? Banksy states that the film is “The story of how one man set out to film the un-filmable. And failed.”

The director is credited as “Terry Guetta,” who is most likely Thierry Guetta, aka Mr. Brainwash. Will the film actually show the super elusive Banksy at work and provide an inside look at the life of a truly infamous man? I dunno. But that dude walking into the pole is pretty funny. (via Mishka)

Obey Colbert

To my suprise Stephen Cobert featured artist Shepard Fairey on his show Colbert Report tonight. The interview was mainly based around Fairey's Obama "Hope" image and why he wasn't turning this image into his "cash cow". Colbert also thanks him for reminding him to always "Obey". Good stuff.

Doze Green New Art Opening w/ Ian Kuali'i

The world famous Doze Green has a new art opening on October 18th in New York. The main person helping him on the project and installment has been a very close friend of mine and yours, Ian Kuali'i (Jedi). I realize most reading this won't even be CLOSE enough to go to the show. I'm heading up to the East coast in a couple of days. I hope to get a sneak peak at the show, perhaps. If it works out I'll report back here.
The main point of this post is to tell Jedi I'm really proud of and happy for you brother. Getting big!
